What is Yellis?
*Please note: this is 'Cambridge Centre for Evaluation & Monitoring's' baseline assessment solution for 14-16 year olds. For other age groups, explore ASPECTS (3-4), BASE (4-5), Cambridge Primary Insights (5-11), MidYIS (11-14), or Alis (16-19).
Pupils are assessed in three key cognitive areas which research shows are linked to later academic outcomes. The assessment takes around 45 minutes:
- Vocabulary – word fluency and understanding
- Maths – logical thinking, manipulating numbers and numerical concepts
- Patterns – ability to match patterns, identify reflections and rotations, apply spatial awareness and visual intuition
About the assessment:
- Adaptive: This is what makes us unique. Watch the video above or read our blog to find out why adaptive testing is important.
- Student-focus: Help students succeed along their educational journey. Yellis reports include a detailed analysis of individual strengths and weaknesses to help structure a course of action for the academic year.
- Quick: Yellis is simple to set-up and run. Results are available for download within 48 hours.
- Research-based: Our specialised researchers have developed CEM’s question bank, making it possible to assess students throughout all phases of their education.
- Predictions: Yellis forms an objective judgement which highlights the likelihood of achieving each grade at GCSE and IGCSE. We believe this is a holistic alternative to point-predictions.
Reports include standardised scores, individual pupil reports, cohort ability profiles, subject-specific predictions to GCSEs and chances graphs, value-added evidence for pupils and subjects, evidence of school performance and improvement over time, and more.
Recommended Usage
