What is Sandbox AR?
Sandbox AR is an augmented reality ‘maker’ app that allows students to create, explore and share their own immersive worlds.
Teachers can level-up lessons with pre-made sandboxes covering many topics from exploring the pyramids of ancient Egypt to a life-size, 3D T-Rex on the school playground!
The app uses state-of-the-art augmented reality to project students’ creations onto their physical surroundings, transporting them through time and space.
Sandbox AR includes:
• Hundreds of models that cover history, science, nature – think Viking houses, blue whales, triceratops and more!
• A ‘life-size mode’ so students can scale up their sandbox and walk into their virtual world in augmented reality.
• Pre-built sandboxes exploring diverse subjects such as ancient Egypt, space exploration and road construction.
• Free, pre-built lessons that educators can use to guide AR integration into classroom instruction. \
In 2023, Sandbox AR was named Best XR/VR/AI Product at the GESS Awards.
It was also crowned the winner of the Hardware, AV, AR/AV, Robotics and Digital Device category at the 2023 Bett Awards.
