What is Magma Math?
Magma Math allows students to be creative in maths. When solving maths problems in Magma, pupils can utilize a canvas area to show their thinking and how they arrive at the final answer. This helps teachers understand how their pupils are solving and they can easily follow their thought processes all the way. Teachers can share all solutions with the entire class to encourage mathematical discussions and improve conceptual understanding.
Automatic grading helps teachers identify learning gaps and address them as they emerge. The Magma Math Heatmap displays areas of difficulty for individual students and provides an overview of the entire class's level of understanding.
With a library of more than 15,000 maths problems, teachers can easily craft formative assessments and activities. All problems in Magma Math are offered at three difficulty levels to differentiate instruction and meet the needs of all of their pupils.
The platform is compatible with iPads, Chromebooks, PC, MacBook and other laptops/computers.

It's a perfect complement to book and I use it for homework, smaller tests and challenge for strong pupils. It really saves a lot of time for me and after using it a while I don't know how to manage without it.

Magma Math has simplified my work as a math teacher. I can now differentiate my teaching for a class with just a few clicks. In Magma Math, you can also see students' work in real-time, which means I can easily see where I need to step in and provide support during the lesson. I am also very pleased with Magma's summaries at the individual and class levels. They allow me to easily follow up on individuals' and the class's results.

Since I started using Magma in my classes I know that I teach my students what they need to instead of what I think they need. I also feel that my students have better knowledge of their own knowlegde in math. Magma has increased a lot of students confident in math and all of them think it is more fun doing math on Magma than in the ordinary book. Magma has also opened alot of oppertunities fot me as a teacher. I can work with math in more varius ways, one exampel is working with the calculations the students make in a lesson and using them to talk more math in the classroom.

Magma Math allows for immediate mathematical data from students. It helps in identifying common gaps in learning seen within the class as a whole and also specific gaps in learning from individual students. Magma Math is also highly useful for formative and summative assessments. Being able to download and use libraries from different curriculum also greatly adds to the experience.

Magma Math has been a great asset to my classroom. So often technological platforms that incorporate math do so on a very thin layer. There is usually a question with a very precise answer and kids know wether they got it wrong. Magma Math provides so much more than this. In this program students are engaged consistently. They have to show all their work before they can submit an answer, and every students work/progress can be accessed using a heat map. Not only are you able to access a students progress in terms of success with the topic but you can play back students work. Allowing you to show the whole class how a student arrived at their answer and even compare how another student may have used a different skill to arrive at the same answer. I would strongly encourage this platform to any educator teaching math because it takes an interactive approach that most mathematical programs do not. Since using this program my students consistently ask to go on the ipads and use Magma Math. When the period is coming to an end they get frustrated that it is time to close up and put it away. They want to sit and do more math!, which from some students is unheard of. It is flexible in its material, there is an array of questions to choose from and you can even add your own questions in to better serve your classrooms needs.

Magma is the best digital way to learn mathematics together and individually in the classroom. This is the best thing that happened to the subject in schools for quite some time! It is so easy to monitor, manage och review all my students! It saves me a lot of time, so I can make better assignments to my students at their level. It is so helpful when I can make small assignments to make att quick-check, to see if the students understands. You can make it as a startup from the last lesson, or as a exitticket. As it is autocorrecting, you just have to look it through quickly to see their calculations. My homeworks are from tuesday to tuesday, and they open and close by themselves. So smart! I really love Magma, since it´s made my work so much more efficient! Try for yourselves, you won't regret it!

There are so many amazing features to Magma Math. It is the best tool for formative assessment that I have used. The immediate feedback is so beneficial as students are learning math content. Students are encouraged to show their work and their thinking. It provides the teacher with lots of great feedback so lessons can be adjusted to students needs. There are so many great math questions already included that are split into levels. The part I love most is that I can personalize any of the assessment by entering my own questions so I am never limited. Magma math is not another curriculum it is a supplement that fits nicely into any classroom with lots of benefits for both the students and the teachers.
