What is Koala Go?
Koala Go is aimed at students and teachers with Zoom fatigue. It is a new award-winning collaborative learning space for uploading PDF's, creating sticky notes and accessing programs, but importantly gives the teacher full control over what actions the students can and can't do.
Koala Go is a more engaging and powerful alternative than Zoom. You can still use Google Classroom, Seesaw, Wordwall, Whizzimo, or whatever web app you prefer in your Koala virtual classroom. Our development process is centered around teachers and students. We work with our teacher community to implement features they need and listen to our students to keep Koala fun!
A major advantage of Koala is to allow the teacher to customize their classroom. We are working on creating more useful tools and interactive objects in-game for our users.

There is nothing about the product that I do not like. I have been teaching online for nearly six years and have never seen anything like it. In fact, I would say it is more effective than in-person at times.

The Koala whiteboard system is also excellent, with huge potential for teachers to design activities that students can really engage directly with during the lesson. For me personally, I use web-based slides and found passive screensharing via Zoom to just be very non-interactive for kids. So Koala has totally revolutionalised that! I also jump off the slides to the whiteboard if my students need some extra practice or to clarify new ideas. I upload worksheets here too, which the student can annotate with their answers during the class.”

I am SO glad that I found Koala when I did. After all of the virtual learning taking place over the last few years, parents are often reticent to (drag their kids, kicking and screaming!) to do one more virtual instruction mode. But as soon as the kids see it, that changes!

Koala has been a fun way to engage my students for learning to read and spell. The ability to make and move their own avatar makes them feel like they aren't just sitting at a desk behind a computer. The open-air landscape designs provide almost a 3D-type visual. Kids can still learn the tough subjects, in a more fun environment even while online.
