FlashAcademy® is accessible on smartphone, tablet, and PC, and is available on Apple and Android devices. Initial set-up may require some input from an IT Manager, although most schools can be onboard in less than an hour. To use the platform, teachers and pupils will need to have basic technological knowledge. Our fantastic education team provide a free demonstration with ongoing support once the platform has been integrated into your teaching strategy. Schools are provided with admin access and pupils are given a username based on their initials.

Set Up

Our members will receive a welcome email with the login details and instant access to the platform. From here, the initial set-up process can take approx. 30 mins to 1 hour. The on-boarding process lasts 4 - 6 weeks which includes 3 sessions with an Education Success Advisor.

FlashAcademy is a great tool for supporting language learning and student progress. Students who completed daily lessons on FlashAcademy made better than expected progress, with significant improvements in their reading ages. The platform links to students' home languages and builds understanding based on their existing knowledge, making it an inclusive resource. It offers excellent assessment tools that help teachers assess students' language proficiency levels, track progress, plan additional support, enhancing the overall learning experience. It is an excellent programme, but one small thing to improve would be the available vocabulary for tailor made lessons. Teachers have shared that when making custom lessons, the vocabulary they would like to use is often unavailable. Also, it takes a little while to load results.

The platform is very visual. Students can play games and learn. The competition mode motivates them to attempt tasks in their free times, outside the classroom.

Since signing up to Flashacademy in 2018 and being part of a case study, I think this is a fantastic platform for teaching EAL. The children find it fun therefore, it doesn't feel like they are working. Learning while having fun.

It is a great tool and I use it a lot but I have been coming up against problems in that the children can't always use it alone if they are very low level

I believe it is a very useful software not just for EAL pupils but for all pupils, including underachievers, It can also be used by all pupils to consolidate different aspects of learning of for whole class handwriting/ letter formation, phonics or french lessons

It's fun, children love it and learn at the same time. Parents can get involved too. Children arriving who speak little English can often feel isolated and anxious, I feel this enables children to feel valued and welcome.

It isn't any higher yet as we need to fully embed Flash to be able to make an informed decision on how successful it is.

The absolute flexibility of the app, so I have a group of children with different languages and at different levels I can set them all up on Flash Academy and they can have a productive lesson very quickly.
