What is Dynamilis?
Based on five years of scientific research at the prestigious Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Dynamilis is the app helping all children learn how to write. The application is composed of two parts allowing each child to progress at his/her own pace in an autonomous, personalized, and fun way.
Handwriting analysis tool
The analysis tool enables the handwriting profile of each child to be established. All the child has to do is copy a text for a few moments (a minimum of 30 seconds of handwriting is required) for the application to analyse the thousands of data extracted from the handwriting in order to give a series of scores qualifying his or her writing. These scores are calculated by comparing the child's handwriting with those of tens of thousands of other children of the same age and gender. They indicate the strengths and weaknesses of the child's handwriting in several aspects (many of which are invisible to the naked eye).
With this analysis tool, we can extract the complete handwriting profile of each child in less than a minute. This allows a better understanding of the child thanks to a series of objective scores on several distinct aspects of handwriting invisible to the naked eye (pressure, speed, tilt...).
In addition, the analysis tool also makes it possible to indicate whether the child has handwriting difficulties.
Training activities
Dynamilis offers playful activities, allowing children to practice their handwriting skills. These activities target specific aspects of handwriting such as pressure control, letter shapes, pen lifts, the precision of the line, or digital motor skills.
The aim of the activities is to complement the teacher's activities by trying to enrich the child's learning with the best that digital tablets can offer. For example, the child will have to draw the path that a hot air balloon should follow, guide a submarine using the pressure of the stylus, help a chemist to create potions by controlling his pen lifts while writing, or teach handwriting to a robot with problems in order to question his own handwriting in a fun and empowering activity (protected effect).
For the activities teaching how to write the letters, more than 20 script and cursive fonts are available to allow each child to learn according to their needs.
All activities have been co-created and validated by recognized handwriting specialists and are used by thousands of children. Dynamilis currently offers 12 different activities. These activities are recommended according to the results of the analysis.
